Champions Potchefstroom started out on our Campus in 2003 with four guys in a cell group. Through great relationships and discipleship the initial cell group grew to 28 sport fanatics in 6 months! In 2005 God blessed us with an open door at the PUK Rugby Institute and since then we’ve been ministering to over 500 PUK rugby players on a yearly basis. We have 2 fulltime Champions workers serving in the Rugby Institute as part time coach and a sport physiologist. In 2008 we started our first cell group for woman hockey players and we’re very expectant to see God do miracles through woman’s sport in 2009. Champions have 10 current cell groups on campus each week and the number is growing monthly. Although we are still just touching the tip of the iceberg in the sport environment in our city, we’re looking ahead with expectancy and faith to see what God is going to do in and through sport.
